ABOUT

Built for writers who think visually

Most writing tools treat story structure as a list. Bullet points, numbered outlines, nested folders. That works for some people, but it misses something important: stories are not linear. They are networks of cause and effect, setups and payoffs, parallel threads that converge. You cannot see those relationships in a list. You need a map.

Scyn exists because we kept running into the same problem. We would outline a story in a document, start drafting, and then lose track of the structure. The outline said one thing, the draft said another, and no tool connected the two. We wanted to see the shape of the story while we were writing it, not just before.

So we built a canvas where every scene is a node, every relationship is a line, and the whole structure is visible at once. You can zoom out to check the architecture, zoom in to work on a single thread, and switch to a writing view where the map stays beside the text. The structure and the draft stay in sync because they live in the same place.

OUR APPROACH

What makes Scyn different

Visual first

The canvas is the starting point, not an afterthought. You build your story spatially, placing scenes where they make sense and drawing connections that reveal the logic underneath. Structure becomes something you can see and rearrange, not something you hold in your head.

Writer-centric

Scyn is not a project management tool adapted for writing. Every feature exists because it solves a problem writers actually have: tracking subplots, seeing cause and effect, keeping the outline and the draft aligned. Nothing is borrowed from software that was built for a different job.

Structure-focused

We do not try to replace your word processor or your screenplay formatter. Scyn handles the structural layer: the map of how your story works. It shows you what connects, what breaks, and what to fix. Then you go write it in whatever tool you prefer.
